ABOUT

I have recently moved to Toronto and I am trying to form a band.
First things first, I am a singer/song writer/guitarist and have all original material. The problem is, I do not have a demo of my music. With that said, I completely understand how hard it is to dedicate yourself to someone when you can’t hear their material.
So.....My plan is to form a band consisting of a lead guitarist, bass player, and drummer. I am looking for people between the ages of 21-35ish. I have a few connections to some bars in T.O. where we can play gigs. I figure the best plan of attack is to start playing covers and if we (the band) are a tight fit, we can start practicing and moulding original music.
My original music could be classified as acoustic/rock with influences such as Ben Harper, Ray Lamontagne Alexi Murdoch, Damien Rice, etc. My plan is to play covers which appeal to a wide variety of people. These would be your typical old school rock, some alternative and more current sounds.
There is no sense in practicing for free when we can gig and make a little cash on the side. It’s important to get stage experience and also to get your look and sound out to the public. It is important that we get out there and start playing. The more we play, the tighter we’ll get.
I’ve been having a hard time finding dedicated musicians and have wasted a lot of my time with people so far. I have moved here to Toronto strictly to pursue music. I know a lot of people hate doing covers, but covers get you out there and gets people up and dancing at bars.
Please only respond to me if you are absolutely a dedicated musician, you have wheels or other means of transportation, and are willing to practice once or twice a week and are ready to start gigging as soon as possible. Thank you...
