SEEKING
Band to Join, Other.ABOUT
I'm a pro musician in the NYC area, and have played on 3 continents (travel is not an issue if the gig is worth it in some way - not just monetarily!) and been a pro player for decades. I mostly play electric and upright basses, but also sing strongly and dabble in flute and keys. That being said, I'm primarily a bassist/vocalist. (I'm at barrybassist)
I'm hoping to make useful contacts with professionals in the music biz in NS with the hopeful goal of either booking a bunch of time-clustered gigs and coming up to do them and/or eventually relocating. I need contacts!
I play virtually all genres (rock, folk, Celtic, blues, musicals, much more), am classically trained, read, know theory, teach, and hold a B.A. in music. I do studio gigs, live work, and a lot of pit playing for musicals. Worthy noting: I play for the music, not to show off my licks; I'm an ensemble player.
If you want more info, please contact me and I'll send you my formal bio. Also, if you have any suggestions on contacts that might be useful, please let me know, and feel free to forward my info to serious people.
Thank you!!!

Living Your Life Alone
Living Your Life Alone Year: 2003 Genre: Other
This is a track I did with the songwriter. She's on guitar and lead vocal, I'm on fretless bass and harmony. Great song (she's a great writer) and I particularly like the nakedness of the production. Every note is exposed.

Block of Ice
Block of Ice Year: 2009 Album: A Heart and An Open Road Genre: Other
This is from a recent release by a signed artist with whom I play and record. The label is Motema, a jazz label although this cut fits a different style. Difficult to categorize. Blues? Jazz? Rock? Great musicians in this band.
