I would like to start a band that is something completely new, which will blow people away! I'll need a blend of funk, rap, and acoustic (gasp!) with very dance-able beats to do so.

Influences
Hah. everyone from the beatles to the black eyed peas. Coldplay, Jamiroquai, James Brown, Jack Johnson, and many others. I try and stay original though. Pretty much anything other than heavy metal or really bad sounding emo crap (cue bands like simple plan).
EQUIPMENT
Just a crappy Strat, an even crappier acoustic guitar (no-name), and a total piece of no good crap amplifyer, which doesnt work. I do have some mics though. Emphasis is more on music content and getting a plan together than equipment.
