Aspetta Caffe, the popular live music bar in the heart of Kensington Market has been showcasing local area musicians for over 5 years. Our philosophy is to welcome musicians of all genres and provide them with the opportunity to get their music out there. As such, we are not a professional venue and we do not pay our performers. We see ourselves as a stepping stone for those that want to make music their career or simply a more relaxed kind of venue for bands that would like a more informal setting. We provide a house PA, soundman, piano, electric organ and a spot for you to network and sell your CD’s during and after your gig. We also promote your gig as well. So far we have had close to 1,500 acts pass through, many have played multiple times, lots have gone on to bigger and paid gigs. No tickets to sell, no auditions, no usual promoters’ double talk! We currently have weekend slots open (fri/sat nights and sat/sun afternoons for February & March and into the spring months when our popular patio opens for performers to play in our unique open air stage. For those not quite ready for “prime time” you can join us on Wednesday and Thursday nights for our weekly “Open Jam andMic Nites”. Past Events
Musicians and friends, come join us for our weekly Open Mic Night every Thursday starting at 8pm. Hosted by our soundman and barista, EL Faron. No need to sign up but we suggest you show up by 930pm to guarantee a slot. Minimum of 15 minutes play time. We have a PA system with mics/stands, speaker, 10-channel mixer as well as full sized piano and organ. Fully licensed event with bar specials all night, free unlimited specialty popcorn with drinks, fabulous Italian coffees and pastries, and Panini. A great chance to network and jam with fellow musicians. If you are interested in performing for our regular weekend gigs (Friday/Saturday nights) talk to Samantha or Faron for details.

No need to sign in, music starts at 8pm and runs to 11pm or later, depending on the turnout.
