I grew up in Bristol, Rhode Island with my parents and 6 siblings. When I was 8 years old, my older brother taught me to play drums. My first album was the self-titled album by The Cars where I learned the simple but effective beats and chops of Robbie Robinson, which is a great foundation. As a teen, I began playing songs by Triumph, Van Halen and Rush. In my 20s, as the original drummer and member for 10 years of the heavy rock band Backlash, I grew into the genre of Rock/Alternative playing songs by GodSmack, Korn, Tool, System of a Down, Rage Against the Machine, Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots, SoundGarden, Alice in Chains, SevenDust, Incubus, etc.
In addition to drums, I learned how to play guitar and bass guitar at 14. In my 20s, I began writing and recording original music, playing all instruments and singing, forming the original touring Fusion Rock Band, Vitamin.
With almost 40 years of playing experience, I have now played drums and percussion in genres of Rock, Pop, Progressive Rock, Classic Rock, Country, Funk, Blues and Fusion.
My goals are to continue growing as an artist/independent musician and I aspire to work full time in this crazy music industry. I am dedicated to maintain the level of professionalism I hold with respect to punctuality, reliability, work ethic, cohesive member of a team (whether it be permanent or temporary or big stage/little stage), creativity in my writing and on-stage performance.
