Critical Mass, a Canadian rock band formed in 1997, has created a legacy spanning over two decades. They've earned acclaim, clinching the Canadian Gospel Music Association Award for Best Rock Album twice—in 2000 and 2005. Their most defining moment arrived at World Youth Day 2002 in Toronto, where they captivated an audience of a million, including the esteemed Pope John Paul II. It was a milestone etched in the band's history.
At the heart of their sound is lead singer David Wang, doubling as the band’s chief lyricist. Collaborating with talented songwriters like Ray Lyell and Andrew Horrocks, the albums are a fusion of styles ranging from modern rock and pop to jazz and heartfelt ballads. Each album is threaded together by a unifying theme, transforming their music into a compelling storytelling experience.
Having produced eight albums, Critical Mass continues their musical journey with their latest release, "Christmas is Real," a festive blend intricately woven into their established sound. Currently on tour, they're not only featuring this holiday offering but also shining a spotlight on their 2021 creation, “Serenity.”
David Wang brings an additional layer to their live performances with his background as an accomplished music video director. His videos enhance the visual storytelling during their live shows, which are a fusion of music and state-of-the-art technology, creating an engaging experience that resonates long after the curtains draw to a close.
