Looking for very good, and solid, players
My name is Robert. I live in Burlington, Ontario, and I am a long-time resident here. I have been playing bass for a very long time; 35 years and counting. Nothing really fancy, people; I am just a solid rock bassist. I can also sing a little; both lead and harmonies. I play many genres of music; but my main interest, my main love, is classic rock. I like power trios, as I love a good challenge; a larger band can be fun, too......power trios are great, IF you have the right chemistry happening.
It is my goal to work with a cover band who realizes that stage presence is a huge part of any live show. I don't want to play with a bunch of shoe-gazers, as energy is key. I believe that you need to give your fans something to look at. A band doesn't have to have matching suits, or provide choreography, to be entertaining and interesting. I am looking for professional, accomplished and mature players to work with.
I own, and use, pro-quality gear. I run my Ibanez and other basses through a 400 watt amp. I have a fair amount of recording experience, and have experience in sound reinforcement and lighting, as well. I am reliable, easygoing, and I don't have a huge ego. I am a good, solid player, and I take direction and constructive criticism well. My philosophy is that music just HAS to be fun (if it is to be worthwhile doing), and a great sense of humor goes a long way.
Thanks for reading my novel :).... Give me a shout, folks!!
Please contact me at: rsears at cogeco.ca.
Thank you.

My old band 'Straight Cut's demo
My old band 'Straight Cut's demo Track number: 1 Year: 2008 Genre: Classic Rock
I recorded the bass tracks for this demo before I had even met all the members of the band Straight-Cut. They saw me play at an open mic night, and looked me up online. They gave me a list of songs, asked me to learn them, and then we went to the studio. I am happy with my playing on this demo; the playing is pretty representative of my style, and we all had good chemistry. I hope you like it. Robert

Brown Sugar/Cover2Cover, fretless99 on Bass
Brown Sugar/Cover2Cover, fretless99 on Bass Year: 2011 Album: Faithless Fellow Respect Genre: Cover/Tribute
A track I recorded with my former friends; other than the messed-up drum intro, it ain't bad ;). The bassist is stellar :D...the song was fun to record, and even more fun to play!
