Influences

Main influences in getting my chops as a Bassist were 70's Classic and Progressive Rock plus Jazz Fusion. I've always learned all songs by ear first. Over the past few years I've learned more about music theory and Jazz.
Overall, my favourite genres to play at gigs are anything with groove or swing where folks can dance or at least get into it. Top 40 Blues, R&B, Soul, Roots, America, Folk, Rock, Pop, Reggae, and Country and Bluegrass. 40's to current.

Like a lot after aspiring musicians I've emulated my heroes on bass which led to tribute band work and the ability to accurately reproduce bass lines note-for-note with the correct tone, when that's required. I eventually developed my own sound as well, which is focused on fundamentals like groove and tone.
