Jee-Young Kim, Singer / Pianist / Vocal Coach

Jee-Young has been and performing professionally for almost 30 years. In her late teens, she made her start, fronting jazz bands in the busy nightlife and jazz bars of Seoul and Busan while working towards her music degree during the day. Upon moving to Toronto in 1999, Jee-Young quickly established herself playing in and around the city with different jazz outfits before taking up residency at Zipperz piano bar where she gained acclaim and lasting friendships. Additionally, she has performed on two legendary stages in Toronto - those of the Horseshoe Tavern and Massey Hall. Confident in the spotlight, but modest to a fault, Jee-Young is a great talent with a natural ability to convey the essence of a given song. Furthermore, she is a gifted sight-reader and sight-singer who can play by ear. Her vast repertoire includes everything from early jazz, blues, rock and roll, show tunes right up to contemporary popular music. She is an active community volunteer, Wife and Mother to two girls.
