I'm a mid-40s guitarist looking for an existing band or musicians interested in forming a band to jam once a week and do 4 or 5 gigs a year. I'm reasonably capable with rhythm and lead guitar and have some stage experience. I can also do background and some lead vocals. I'm looking for other non-professional musicians who are in the intermediate to experienced skill range where we can learn from each other and have some fun playing covers and maybe a few originals. It's a hobby so the emphasis is on having a good time, but I'm also motivated and want our music to progress. I'm hoping to find something in the east end of town generally and ideally in Orleans. I come from a classic, 80s and alt-rock background but would like to expand to include some alt-country, soul and r&b.

Influences
All of the typical 60s guitar-based classic bands - The Beatles, Stones, Doors, Cream (Clapton generally). The 70s are somewhat less of an influence and then for some reason I really enjoy early 80s rock (Split Endz, etc). I also like 90s alternative (STP, etc)
EQUIPMENT
Very basic - Kramer Focus strat knock-off, Epiphone Les Paul copy, Line 6 POD, Rolland amp, Art and Lutherie acoustic.
