ABOUT

Hi there my name is Mike and I have been playing guitar for a number of years, in the past 7 to 10 years I've put a more concerted effort into practicing and playing on a regular basis. I'm playing for 3 to 5 hours per week every week. I'm playing with a small group of guys in a band/jam session, which would constitute another four or five hours per month of live band practice. Typically this is going to involve playing cover songs or working out different riffs that we might find interesting while trying to write songs. I typically find myself gravitating towards covering rhythm guitar or bass guitar depending on the songs were tracking. My favorite thing is to try to find interesting ways to harmonize or make the lead guitar players solos pop out instead of just playing your basic root note rhythm in the background. Although I'm having a lot of fun jamming on the weekends I would really be interested in finding a group of people who want to either cover some music that we mutually enjoy or potentially writing our own music to perform.

Influences

If it had guitar, some sort of overdrive or fuzz, was detuned, and caused possible hearing damage, I would consider it an influence over the last 25 years. With that being said I enjoy lots of classic rock hard rock metal and metal core, don't mind stoner rock or doom stuff either if it's done tastefully.
