ABOUT

I am Rich Freed, a Scottish singer-songwriter and guitarist from Glasgow. My musical journey has taken me from the vibrant streets of Glasgow to the eclectic music scene of Toronto. Since 2006, I've been crafting my musical identity, blending indie-pop with blues-rock vibes through my own compositions.

As the frontman of the Glasgow-based indie/blues rock band, The Dead Settlers, I honed my skills as a lead singer, guitarist, and prolific songwriter. In 2018, I made the bold move across the Atlantic to Toronto, seeking to expand my musical horizons and carve out a solo career.

Drawing inspiration from a diverse array of musical icons including The Beatles, Oasis, Radiohead, and Arctic Monkeys, I embarked on my solo journey with a debut single titled "The Decline" released in 2022. I've since become a prominent figure in Toronto's music scene, captivating audiences with my talent for writing inventive melodies, catchy hooks, and introspective lyrics.

My dedication to my craft is evident in my extensive performances across Toronto's renowned venues such as Dakota Tavern, Painted Lady, and Handlebar. I'm also a regular host of the open mic nights at The Dive Shop.
