Hey, I started drumming when I was 8, took lessons for 3 years and played until the age of 17. Kids left home and I started playing again a few years ago, really liked how it felt and got hooked. Over the first few years I was jamming with a few people, and practicing my ass off. I play every day, and have a rotational schedule [3 weeks on and off], tons of free time, and a wife who is into heavy music. Over the last year I started a band with a guitarist, and we have a female singer who has joined this last year. We are playing heavy progressive style rock, covering songs from Stratovarious, Sonata Arctica, Spiritual Beggars, Disturbed, Thin Lizzy, System of a Down, Foo Fighters to name a few. When learning new material i spend quite a bit of time learning the original mechanics, and put a lot of emphasis on ensuring the correct feel is in place. I play open, using a few hat's, and use a lot more bass in the groove to add body to the music when appropriate. I know material from Bad Company, CCR, Cheap Trick, INXS, Holly McNarland, Shinedown, 3 Doors Down, Scorpions, Collective soul, Metallica, Goo Goo Dolls, Alice Cooper, Free, Thin Lizzy, The Hip, Audioslave, Spiritual Beggars, Clutch, Foo Fighters, System of Down, STP, Chevelle, Volbeat and many other songs from 80's classic rock bands.

Influences
I love all types of metal, hard and classic rock, R&B and blues based grooves. I have the ability to swing the beat, or play a relaxed chicago blues style as required. I am not a soft player, but can let the music breathe as needed dynamically.
