I have been a singer my whole life. When it comes to instruments I do play guitar, but I am not going to pretend I'm better than I am, I really only know the chords I need to know to back up my singing. I learned piano first at 12, and two years later learned to play guitar when it occurred to me that it was easier to carry around. I was in choirs my entire school time from kindergarten through high school, and learned ukelele in high school just after guitar, while I was starting performances at coffee houses, etc at my school. I have social anxiety and stage fright when it comes to performing, but I always figured it's just because it's something I actually care about. I am very casual about music but I love it.
p.s. Just a heads up I own five wigs and my actual hair is a mohawk, in case I ever meet someone involving music from here and happen to not have my hair on

Influences
My favourite music to perform (specifying because I listen to any and all music and love anything) all exists more in an era than a genre, as most of the music I play and sing is easily summarized; Counting Crows, Barenaked Ladies, Train, Matchbox 20, etc. My more modern influences are definitely less familiar to a lot of people and can be easily described as 'indie/folk' musicians, i.e. Julia Nunes, Molly Thomason (who is now no longer Molly at all), etc. I guess I could also throw in that I always loved the Beatles, but that one goes without saying.
