I sing straight ahead jazz as well as standards. Have written lyrics for tunes by John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard, and other instrumentalists. I started out in a cappella improv, so take improvisational solos (not necessarily "scat") learned from Bobby McFerrin Voicestra teachers Raz Kennedy, Joey Blake and Rhiannon. I am looking for musicians to play with on a regular basis, not super focused on gigging, just getting better. I did "activist jazz" with my band back in California.
