I've been playing guitar for 11 years, focusing on singing for about 3-4 years, and writing song for nearly 3 years. I can play a wide array of different songs on guitar from blues to punk to alternative to classic rock. I focus more on rhythm guitar, but am definitely a solid lead player. These days, I'm focused more on my songwriting, singing, and stage presence.
My songwriting lies somewhere in the vein of being a mix between alternative music of the 80's, 90's and 00's (RHCP, Pixies, Smiths, Pumpkins) and classic rock and punk roots from the 70's (Zevon, Bowie, Stooges). Check out the "Influences" section.
I will upload or post links to some of the songs I've been messing around with on Garageband over the past couple of weeks. I hadn't really been layering anything on software beforehand, but this will give you and idea of where my influences lie and the sound I'm going for.
Really looking to get a band together -- bored of playing on my own. Looking specifically for a drummer and bass guitarist. Also happy to bring another guitarist on board in any capacity. Preferably 1-2 of these members could help sing and assist in harmonies. I'm happy to split lead vocalist duties if I feel a strong connection musically. Just looking to form a really solid group. Also looking for good collaborators who are writing/interested in writing songs.
