TIGERBLUE are a band fusing elements of:
-the Rock side of BRYAN ADAMS & POWER STATION
-the improvised elements of CREAM & JIMI HEDRIX
-the Jazz/Funk side of JEFF BECK, STING & PRINCE
-the more atmospheric touches of PINK FLOYD & U-2

The songs are always melodic & accessible,
with a mature use of dynamics & musically
challenging in structure & chord voicing.

Altering from driving funk/rock groves to
airy hypnotic textures, well structured
songs & a solid level of musicianship are
a may of any Tigerblue performance.

What makes their sound so full for just three
musicians, are their individual arrangements
for guitar & bass, & use of vocal harmonies.

But don't let the name confuse you.
Although there are certain blues
elements to their name & music,
they are definitely *not* a blues band!

I play about 30 songs per show. About 30% originals & a bit of jamming/improvising. To be honest, I'd rather be doing all originals. But I want to play regularly & *GET PAID FOR IT* So... a 70/30 split lets me do both.

I'd be happy to gig every weekend -BUT- I realize that if you have a job/family, that that's not always possible. So the absolute minimum would be to play live at least once per month.

BUT PLEASE KEEP IN MIND: A bar hires a band to play covers of recognizable songs (without having to pound "Sweet Home Alabama" or "New Orleans is Sinking" into the ground for the millionth time again) to draw people into their venue.

So the closer we sound to the original version (not some fuzzy youtube clip, 20 years after a bands glory days), the more people will be impressed & the more money we'll make! RIGHT?

Yeah, getting all the details takes some time/effort, but so does anything that goes somewhere. -AND- No one ever got a standing ovation by half-assing it...

I do a few arrangements of tunes, but it's a conscious decision, not because I'm too lazy to learn my parts. Which also means that you have to learn your parts BEFORE you show up to rehearsal.

NOTE: my chords can be different from the bass parts, so you can't just look at me & copy what I'm doing. Which means that you have to *STUDY* the song!

That I have to mention any of this (which to me, is pretty basic logic), tells you the kind of guys that I've been dealing with over the years : )

NOTE: If there's nothing recent (for the most part) in my cover repertoire, it's because I haven't really heard anything on the radio that's impressed me for the last 20 years.
