ABOUT

The Hunks and Punks Band is a Ottawa-based dance band featuring horns, guitars, congas, bass, flute, harmonica, drums and up to 5 great vocalists.

We play parties, pubs, corporate events and weddings, but we are especially strong in a black tie or wedding format playing great dance, pop, funk, disco and rock n roll in a larger stage format. We have a sound and light team and put on a classic night of entertainment.

We are a mixture of musicians ranging from their twenties to fifties - with the blend of great songs from the 70s to now. If you want to dance to it - we probably play it!

We are looking for a part-time female singer to share the load with our current 26 year old lead (we also have two male lead singers) to sing a third of the songs in a show as lead - and the rest as backup and percussion. Our current female lead also plays keyboard so that would be a plus - but is not necessary. We need the female lead singers voice to be strong for R&B, pop and rock - especially for classic ballads and dance songs by Bruno Mars, Amy Winehouse, Marvin Gaye, Nora Jones, Micheal Jackson, Ed Sheeran, Amy Winehouse and Shania Twain songs.

We gig usually 1-2 times a month and practice 1-2 times a week.
We are also looking for a part time drummer, as we use studio drummers but they are often booked when we need them.

We love making music to make people dance and sing alone with classic dance cover tunes - so if this is you like as well and want to participate contact us here or at our hunksandpunks site!
