Vanessa is a vocalist and singer/songwriter and has been working in music for many years. Whether it's in her solo act "Ness Nöst," doing folk/jazz/soulful original music, or singing as a backup vocalist in several groups around Vancouver, Vanessa is very active as a live musician. Vanessa also lends her vocals to musicians & bands in the recording studio, in genres like (but not limited to) indie/rock, to pop/rock and experimental/electronic. Coming from Ottawa/Montreal where Vanessa started it all, she was lead singer in jazz group "The Swoon Quartet" which toured Canada & USA, and went on to be a vocalist in Eastern BC's indie rock group "Easy Ruckus." Vanessa spent a residency at the Banff Centre for the Arts in 2016 where she fell in love with more of the western music community, and continues to work within the Canadian music scene.
