Hotter Than Ice is a group of culturally diverse musicians offering pulsating rhythms that dominate the musical spectrum of Zouk, Calypso, Soca, and Reggae.
Since it’s inception in 1988, Hotter Than Ice has been a dynamic force in the music scene of the nation’s capital and is the city’s only source of zouk entertainment.
Based in Ottawa, Hotter Than Ice provides a compelling glimpse of the may rhythms heard in the Islands of St. Lucia, Guadeloupe, Martinique, and Dominica. In its delivery, the band punctuates these “HOT” rhythms by pulsating reggae and soca grooves, revealing the band’s diversity and varied musical influences.
The international character of the band is evident in it’s ability to deliver it’s musical message in French Creole, tribal dialects from the Ivory Coast, and of course, Canada’s official languages.
The focus of the band is diversity and musical excellence. Hotter Than Ice derives its success and uniqueness from the dedication of its members, some of who have performed on the international scene.
