ABOUT

Seeking a bass (and perhaps a guitar player) for a trio (or perhaps a quartet) of keys, bass and drums. We play classic jazz (standards), lounge style Jazz as well as Latin and Bossa and we also include a variety choices from other genres including R&B, Soul and Funk; see "Influences" below to get a better idea of our interests.

We are easy going and want to have a good time enjoying a shared passion with some fun and able musicians. We strive to play well and to grow as musicians.

You enjoy playing, are easy going, fun, and you are competent on your instrument.

Please, we really do not have the time or patience for anyone who is not a friendly, collaborative, team player. Also, if you generally have difficulties following through on things then we are not the band for you ;-)

This is all about having fun and playing well together. We will play some gigs from time to time and would enjoy doing some recording too.

So, just to make it clear, if you are looking for a fun opportunity, if you are into this music, and into learning songs and creating some sets and if you are into playing occasional gigs and making some recordings then this is the band for you.

We generally do not have a premium account here at Bandmix and thus cannot always reach out to you via Bandmix. However, feel free to send us a note and we will respond. You can also find and communicate with us us at:

Influences

We have a very broad set of influences through the Latin, Jazz and Lounge genres as well as Funk, R&B, Soul and Blues. We are also open to other music as well.

Music we enjoy playing includes (but is not at all limited to) Jazz Standards / American Songbook; Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Horace Silver, Hoagy Carmichael, Wayne Shorter and Paul Desmond. Let's not forget the amazing Antonio Carlos Jobim. We enjoy Chick Corea, Red Garland, Ella, Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Lena Horn, Diana Krall, Herbie Hancock, Ray Brown, Ron Carter, early Blue Note records stuff, etc. We enjoy playing from The Real Book and The Fake Book music collections. We also enjoy incorporating popular music into the mix.

We are not into the experimental, atonal, arrhythmic jazz and other equally weird stuff LOL.

If after looking at this profile, you are curious or think maybe we might be what you are looking for, then send us a note. Like we said, we are very easy going. We can compare notes and see if it's worth meeting or jamming.
